Optics is a fascinating field that focuses on the behavior and properties of light. It plays a crucial role in numerous aspects of our daily lives and various industries.
One of the fundamental aspects of optics is the study of light reflection. Mirrors, for example, rely on the principle of reflection to form images. When light rays strike a smooth mirror surface, they bounce off at an equal angle to the incident angle, allowing us to see clear and accurate reflections.
Refraction is another key concept. Lenses, which are widely used in eyeglasses, cameras, and telescopes, work based on refraction. As light passes through a lens, its speed and direction change due to the different refractive indices of the lens material and the surrounding medium. This causes the light rays to converge or diverge, enabling the formation of focused images or the correction of vision impairments.
